How to Fix a Zipper Pull

  • 1 min read

Zipper fix using FixIts

It can be frustrating when a zipper pull snaps and comes apart leaving you with nothing to hold onto to open your zipper. With FixIts and a paperclip you can create a new pull in under 5 minutes.

What you'll need?

  • A kettle or a pan on a hob to boil water
  • A glass or ceramic cup (avoid plastics as FixIts can stick to it)
  • Hairdryer
  • Paperclips
  • FixIts sticks.

Step 1 - Attach a paperclip through the zip loop

Step 2 - Soften the FixIts stick

Step 3 - Mould a blob of FixIts around the paperclip

Mould your molten FixIts around the paperclip and give it a smooth finish. Pro tip : If you make a bit of a mess of it the first time around, you can always reheat your FixIts by dipping it in hot water or using a hairdryer to make it soft again, at which point you can reshape it and give it a nicer finish.
